Industrial Technology Program

Academic Requirements

Undergraduate students completing their degrees through the RVC-NIU Partnership must successfully complete a minimum of 120 semester hours including general education requirements and attain a minimum 2.00 grade point average.

Students in the B.S. in technology program must meet the following requirements:

Twenty-seven semester hours of technology course work which includes:

  • Industrial Data Processing
  • Industrial Training and Evaluation
  • Supervision in Industry
  • Plant Location, Layout, and Materials Handling
  • Human Factors in Industrial Accident Prevention
  • Work Simplification and Measurement
  • Industrial Quality Control
  • Industrial Project Management
  • Graphic Presentation and Communication

A minimum of nine semester hours of additional technology course work chosen with the advice and consent of the departmental adviser.

Twenty-three semester hours of credit from a technical A.A.S. degree may be applied toward the area of special technology study with the consent of the departmental adviser and chair.

Additional semester hours of technology foundation course work and course work in math, science, management, and accounting fundamentals taken at RVC may serve as transfer credit to fulfill NIU degree requirements. Students should consult with the department chair for transfer credit consent.
